The Scenic Taktak Falls – My Siargao Adventure (Part 3)
At around 845AM of Feb 9, 2012 after we ate our breakfast, we headed to Taktak Falls located in Sayug, Rizal, Sta. Monica. About 3kms away from Sapao. The place is well hidden and surrounded by indigenous plants. The waterfall was like waiting for us to arrive and said “Hey guys! I am lonely and glad that you came” and the water was inviting.
I am from Bohol and I have been to Mag-aso Falls (Antequera, Bohol). If I am going to compare the two waterfalls, I say Taktak Falls is safer for swimmers. Taktak Falls is cemented and its waters are trapped in a pool thus the current is not strong compared to that of Mag-aso Falls which already killed 2 people. Hmmm. Well, let us not talk about other waterfalls because this is all about Siargao. haha Going back, the waters of the waterfall were cool. I got a shiver. You would literally get off from the water in 2 seconds because it is really cold.
There is an entrance fee of PhP 5.00/head, PhP 10.00/motorcycle and PhP 10-20.00/private or public vehicle (as of this writing). I recommend the place since it is not crowded and of course the waters are not salty.
Let us have the tour through pictures:
