Revisiting the Taoist Temple in Cebu City, Philippines
Almost three years ago, I visited the famous Taoist Temple in Cebu City as one of the itineraries of our educational tour in college. That was my first time to visit the place. During the tour, I learned a lot about the culture of Chinese people who still practiced Taoism (though most of them are now Christians), well thanks to our tour guide, but now, it seems that all those things I learned are gone.
For a person who now lives and works in Cebu City, revisiting the place is not a priority but suddenly, cousins from Iligan City came. I do not know where else I can bring them except for malls. So one thing that came into my mind is the Taoist Temple.
So our tour of the Taoist Temple stopped there. To experience it differently, it would be more awesome if you try and visit the place sometime. The place is free and open to the public. Though it is open, you need to observe silence and follow the signs while in the said temple. The management is strict especially if you are noisy, they won’t stop reprimanding you.
The Taoist Temple is located in Beverly Hills, Lahug, Cebu City. The temple is also a good place to see the aerial view of Cebu City. You can ride a taxi to go there but if you are familiar of the whereabouts of Cebu City, you can ride in jeppneys 17B/17C/17D/04C/04L/04B/04H and just stopped by in Sudlon, Lahug (tell the driver, Sudlon is near JY Mall) and then ride a habalhabal /motorcycle from Sudlon to the Taoist Temple or hike if you have enough energy.
