Early Morning Walk at Sta. Monica – My Siargao Adventure (Part 2)
Feb 9, 2012 6AM. We were awake and felt the tranquility of the morning. Cool breeze felt my skin… not so ordinary for me. Yeah, this is really a vacation. I thought that a short jog was a great way to start my morning. I wanted to buy some bread and so I asked Ivan if there was a bakery open nearby. Maybe jogging all the way to the bakery would be fun. But then Ivan suggested that we could take a walk and explore the neighborhood around Sapao, Sta. Monica. By that Ivan led us to the shoreline of Rizal, Sta. Monica. It was like 1.5km walking distance.

We walked from Sapao to Rizal (both are barangays of Sta. Monica) and discovered Gat-Taro Beach Resort nestled along the shoreline of Rizal.
We passed the ricefields, Sapao Elementary School and their barangay hall. It was very rural! You know what I mean? One of the locals, a mother with her 2 kids saw me and Hill, maybe she was just intrigued to see our new faces and asked us in her own dialect. I don’t remember the exact words she said but it was like “Hain man kamu mga bata?”. It was funny because we did not understand her question. To translate, she meant in simple Cebuano “Kinsa man mong mga anak?” (English: Who are your parents?) The mother then saw and recognized Ivan and realized we were Ivan’s visitors.
So to better illustrate what we did that morning, let me show you these pictures:

your translation is incorrect. The woman is asking “san kayo papunta?”
not sure though… haha
