Revisiting the Taoist Temple in Cebu City, Philippines

Almost three years ago, I visited the famous Taoist Temple in Cebu City as one of the itineraries of our educational tour in college. That was my first time to visit the place. During the tour, I learned a lot about the culture of Chinese people who still practiced Taoism (though most of them are now Christians), well thanks to our tour guide, but now, it seems that all those things I learned are gone.

For a person who now lives and works in Cebu City, revisiting the place is not a priority but suddenly, cousins from Iligan City came. I do not know where else I can bring them except for malls. So one thing that came into my mind is the Taoist Temple.

Seeing the entrance gate makes you feel that the place is unique from any others. This is the first scene we saw right after the taxi driver dropped us.

If Catholics have bells in their churches, Taoist Temples also have theirs. I do not know if this thing serves its purpose but the Yin Yang symbol intrigues me.
